Review: SECRET OF MONKEY ISLAND

The Secret of Monkey Island was one of my first point and click adventures, and is still one of the best. The music, humour and characters kicked off a long line of excellent adventure games.

The soundtrack I review here is of the CD-ROM edition for the PC, which is a 256 color re-release of the game from 1992.

You can find the soundtrack here: KHInsider.com.The OST is nice and simple: clear melodies with lots of little effects to spice things up.

One of the best tracks is the 'Secret of Monkey Island Theme', which is a staple of all following Monkey Island soundtracks. Another favorite is 'Melee Island', a really melllow track with lots of little bells and whistles throughout.

I really like the instruments used in this OST; it feels like a mix between electronic and regular instruments and has an overal exotic vibe to it.
