Review: OUTRUN 2 SP SPECIAL TOURS

Outrun has one of the most iconic soundtracks of all time..it's composer, Hiroshi Kawaguchi, also did the excellent soundtrack for Sword of Vermilion.

This is one of the games where I'm more familiar with the soundtrack than the game; I mostly played OutRun a couple of times in arcades..for this review, I fired up a Playstation 2 emulator and did a couple of races. The game is pretty great, with a overwhelming sense of speed, incomparible with the more 'realistic' racing games like Gran Turismo or Forza Horizon. I'll always like these arcade-style racers better, and the soundtrack for OutRun just makes it an unbeatable classic.

The composer did a long list of other project including After Burner..I'll have to check that out some time as well!
