Review: 7TH SAGA

You don't hear often about 7th Saga and its soundtrack..the game is notorious for being extremely challenging, with even the possibility to get softlocked by the difficulty if you progress in the wrong way. Luckily there's a rom out there tweaked for a better experience. Still, I beat the game when I was younger and have fond memories of the soundtrack, the creepy realistic-styled enemies and the battle system.

The soundtrack has a really unique sound, very dark and bombastic but at times also light and folksy. It's very flute-heavy and has some memorable melodies..I really like the Lemele's Recruiting march, which I picked as the cover song for this review.

The song 'Frozen Depths' has lots of reverb, really adding to the feeling of wandering in some old lost dungeon, dodging enemies along the way.

I also really like the dramatic start of the battle themes, both which I included to the favorite list. There's a lot of dream-like, floating melodies in other songs..for example one of the world map themes, "Lux Tizer". The whole soundtrack is just great!

Doing a Youtube search for 7th Saga covers didn't turn up as many results as, say, a Zelda cover..but I found this one and it's pretty good, even covering the flute parts: Demon Shinegami - 7th Saga (metal medley).
